About the Work

I started this work with improvisation, and I conducted all of my research alone during quarantine. My movement exploration reflected the isolation I had been experiencing as well as this idea of being bound or restricted. The only way I could find freedom was by continuing a practice of connecting with my body. Through movement and meditation, I found liberation in these dark times.

This new solo dance film explores solitude as the dancer floats and moves through a void without a clear destination. I hope this new piece will speak to the intimacy and vulnerability which was a result of my solitude. I’ve allowed my mind to wander and my body to heal in more ways than I thought could be possible during these challenging times. I hope audiences will see beauty in the human spirit and sensitivity of the body in this dance film.
